The NIA is pleased to announce its participation as an event partner for The Foresight Event 2026.

The Foresight Event 2026 is set to convene senior decision-makers from government, industry, and finance to deliberate on the most critical challenges and opportunities within the clean energy landscape. This year’s agenda prominently features hydrogen, acknowledging its essential function in the decarbonisation of transportation, heavy industry, and power generation. Concurrently, the programme will dedicate substantial and timely attention to the future of new nuclear energy, while also addressing other facets of the UK’s Net-Zero transition.

The dedicated nuclear panel will explore how innovations in fission and fusion can contribute to long-term decarbonisation, enhance national energy security, and unlock new industrial prospects. Discussions will encompass a broad range of topics, from the mechanisms for delivering social value in nuclear infrastructure development, and the fundamental question of whether new nuclear energy represents the Net Zero “silver bullet.” Furthermore, the programme will scrutinise the societal dimension of nuclear deployment, including public confidence and community involvement.

The NIA is pleased to confirm that several representatives from our member organisations are scheduled to participate in these conversations. Ms. Elliw Williams of Cwmni Egino, Mr. Steve Wood from Fylde Coast energy, and Mr. Talmon Firestone of Astral Systems will all contribute their expertise to the event’s nuclear-focused sessions, which will be moderated by Virginia Crosbie, former Member of Parliament.

In addition, Mr. Jonathan Clark of Gleeds will join the Data Centre panel to examine the role of nuclear energy in addressing the AI-driven escalation in energy demand and supporting the increasing requirements of digital infrastructure in an era of heightened AI activity and elevated energy consumption.

Through our partnership with The Foresight Event 2026, the NIA is committed to ensuring that nuclear energy’s indispensable role within a balanced, integrated clean-energy system is clearly articulated and robustly represented. The Foresight Event will take place on 4-5 February 2026 in Liverpool, bringing together leaders across policy, industry, investment, supply-chain and technology to tackle major enablers.

As the UK progresses towards its net-zero obligations, discussions concerning the interplay between nuclear, hydrogen, and emerging clean-energy technologies will be key for nationwide success.
