NIA CEO, Tom Greatrex, pays tribute to Julia Pyke who is stepping down from her role at Sizewell C at the end of the year.

The Nuclear Industry Association congratulates Julia for the integral role she has played in securing the largest private sector financing of a nuclear project in UK history and, with that, a Final Investment Decision for Sizewell C and the first proper replica station in the UK’s history.

Julia has given years of skill, determination, energy and good humour to our sector on both Hinkley Point C, and for the last 8 years, on Sizewell C. She has been instrumental in moving nuclear from some lean years toward record investment and record job creation in the sector.

Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, says:

“It is almost impossible to imagine our sector without Julia at Sizewell C. Anyone who has observed nuclear knows that it has never been easy, and especially getting big, long-term capital projects underway in the UK. Julia has been at the heart of overcoming that challenge at Sizewell C. She won people over to nuclear, built trust, built relationships and came with new ideas about how to tackle, and solve, the problem of competitive financing. The nuclear industry in the UK wishes her well in her next endeavours.”
