The Nuclear Industry Association has welcomed the publication of the Annual Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) Report (link).
Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, said:
“It is great to see the progress being made in delivering a GDF, which will drive significant investment in the community where it is built and sustain high-quality jobs and skills for more than a hundred years.
“Geological disposal is the best strategy for the long term safe and secure disposal of higher-activity radioactive waste and is supported by rigorous scientific advice in line with international best practice. That’s a key part of the commitment our industry brings to every place in which we operate.”
