The context for this work is consideration of the whole system to identify aspects that may be changed to achieve the goal of nuclear making an effective and efficient contribution to net-zero in the UK.
To support the development of an evolved Nuclear Sector Deal, a high-level systems analysis has been carried out of the nuclear enterprise, through which more detailed work can be identified for further investigation. The focus is human activity systems, i.e., those systems of an organisational nature within a socio-technical context; the analysis does not consider the scientific or engineering aspects of the nuclear sector, except for their influence on the organisational systems.
