The Institution of Mechanical Engineers warmly invites NIA members to join this year’s Fit For Purpose Safety Cases seminar. This is the UK’s only nuclear specific event addressing the engineering challenges involved when building safety cases. Attendees will learn all the fundamentals and gain an appreciation of the essential elements of achieving safety cases that are suitable and sufficient for their sites.

This year will feature a special keynote presentation from the Hon. Sir Charles Haddon-Cave, who will focus on the outcomes from high-profile safety case investigations and the lessons nuclear engineers can learn from these. He will be joined by speakers from ONR, EDF Energy, AWE, National Nuclear Laboratories and Sellafield Ltd, who will discuss the latest industry regulation and practical guidance for developing a robust safety case.

Discount for NIA members to attend: Nuclear Industry Association members can get a discount to attend; simply select “supporting organisation” when you are booking online or contact us on and mention your membership.
