The UK’s Nuclear Industry Association and the US Nuclear Energy Institute have welcomed a landmark UK–US nuclear power agreement set to boost energy security, create thousands of jobs, and open major opportunities for companies on both sides of the Atlantic.

Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive, Nuclear Industry Association (NIA)
Maria Korsnick, President and CEO, Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI)

“We welcome the announcement of a stronger UK–US partnership on nuclear energy. It means more jobs, more investment, and greater energy security on both sides of the Atlantic.

“These new deals will strengthen supply chains and create opportunities that benefit communities in both our countries.

“Equally important is closer work on streamlining regulation. By aligning approaches and standardising designs, we can build new stations faster and more affordably, while upholding the highest safety standards. That keeps costs down, speeds up innovation, and protects people and the environment.

“The UK and US have always led the way in nuclear energy. With this commitment, we can move faster together towards a cleaner, more secure energy future.”
