Racial Equality in Nuclear (REiN) is proud to announce its launch event on the 21st of June in Manchester.
REiN aims to act as a positive disruptor to the UK nuclear sector – stimulating greater connectivity and learning between existing networks for race and ethnicity, and shifting industry perceptions to improve the inclusivity and attractiveness of the sector.
There are three key functions it exists to deliver – these are to:
- Provide a pan-nuclear forum in the nuclear sector for ethnic communities to foster kinship, mutual support and engage on topics relating to diversity and inclusion.
- Stimulate two-way dialogue between leadership and ethnic voices in order to create progress relating to issues of inclusion, bias and discrimination.
- Improve the representation and experience of ethnic communities in the nuclear sector through activities and interventions in collaboration with members, organisations and pan-nuclear bodies.
It is our ambition to spark through REiN an inclusive transformation of our sector – one which attracts diverse talent, and challenges the pre-conceptions of what it means to work in nuclear.
The aim of the launch event is to consult the nuclear industry on REiN and the path it aspires to take, and to host a roundtable discussion as how as a sector we can best improve the inclusion and representation of ethnic communities in nuclear. We are further pairing this event with a discussion and networking event in the afternoon between ED&I network leaders in nuclear to build relationships and stimulate collaborations.
The REiN team welcomes leaders from all across the sector, including network leaders, HR directors and those interested in supporting to contribute to the discussions.
