The Big Bang Fair, the UK's largest STEM event for young people, is just around the corner! From 17 to 19 June at the NEC in Birmingham, this event is a great opportunity for the nuclear industry to engage with the next generation of talent.
As the UK aims to increase nuclear power generation to 25% by 2050, the need for skilled professionals in the sector has never been more urgent. To meet this target, we will need to double the nuclear workforce, creating approximately 80,000 skilled jobs over the next 20 years. The Big Bang Fair plays a pivotal role in addressing this skills shortage by inspiring young minds, from as early as 11 to 14 years old, to consider careers in STEM.
With more than 20,000 school students expected, The Big Bang Fair offers a unique platform for organisations in the nuclear sector to showcase exciting career opportunities and engage directly with future talent. Exhibitors will have the chance to demonstrate how they capture the imagination of young people, sparking their interest in STEM careers.
