Assystem is launching the 17th edition of the UK Nuclear Safety & Risk Forum, returning on 17th September 2026 at the historic Manchester Hall to bring together leading voices from across the civil and defence nuclear sectors to discover what it takes to deliver nuclear delivery at pace.

Our 2026 forum arrives at a transformative moment for the UK nuclear industry. Following the UK Government’s acceptance of all 47 recommendations from the UK Nuclear Regulatory Review and the creation of a Nuclear Regulatory Implementation Panel, organisations across the sector are now preparing for a period of unprecedented nuclear regulatory acceleration.

With the global focus on sovereign low-carbon energy sources becoming more urgent than ever, the 2026 event will explore how the landmark regulatory changes are moving the dial when it comes to accelerating the delivery of nuclear projects.

“As we collectively look to implement the recommendations of the Nuclear Regulatory Task Force, the Safety & Risk Forum could not be more timely. Hannah Thompson, UK Safety & Risk Operations Director at Assystem, commented:

“This year’s forum comes at a pivotal moment for the UK nuclear sector with the Nuclear Regulatory Taskforce review presenting an exciting opportunity for our sector to strengthen the foundation of how we roll out our low-carbon future. This year we’re bringing together leading industry voices to provide clarity and insight on the actions needed to streamline nuclear safety processes, environmental planning and protection, to equip the UK to successfully deliver the next generation of nuclear”.
