We are heading up to Scotland for our next Decommissioning & Waste Management meeting in November and pairing it with a visit to Hunterston A & B!
‘Better Together’ is the theme of our next group meeting and from that you can expect updates from the NDA, Sellafield, EDF, NRS, UKNNL and many more. We will be looking at the transfer of the Hunterston site from EDF to NRS, getting into the activities, challenges, and opportunities a site transfer like this presents.
Hunterston Tour – Tuesday 3 November

Site A tour: 1.5 hours in length, possible PPE required (TBC).
Site B tour: 1.5 hours in length, no PPE required, visit the 5th floor viewing gallery looking over the turbine hall and the 10th floor viewing galley which looks over the pile cap.
Parking: Parking is available on site.
Additional information: Taxis are available to book from Streamline (1475 689990), the nearest local train station is West Kilbride, Cubrieshaw St, KA23 9BP. Glasgow Airport is aprox 45 mins by car and Glasgow City Centre is approx. 1 hour by car. Local hotels less than 10 mins from the site include Seamill Hydro, Ardrossan Rd, West Kilbride & The Waterside Hotel, Ardrossan Rd, West Kilbride.
