We’re pleased to announce that we’ll be hosting a webinar for the SME Group on Tuesday 8th December, in collaboration with our friends at digiLab.
Over the past several years, AI has been a focal point of headlines and workplaces. But the majority of AI use has been confined to low-stakes experimenting on simple, surface-level problems. And, in highly regulated industries like nuclear, it can be hard to see how to move beyond this to make a lasting, trustworthy impact, beyond a simple LLM query.
In this session, Dr Cyd Cowley from the advanced nuclear team at digiLab will be explaining where AI currently is in high stakes industries and explore how it’s already used, from agentic AI to machine learning for simulation engineering. We’ll also explore what AI can do below the surface, with examples of machine learning speeding up engineering simulations, predicting how plant and components behave over time, and showing how far the results can be trusted.
