Scaling Hydrogen with Nuclear Energy (SHyNE) is a leading project to unlock the opportunity for new nuclear energy to support decarbonisation of the UK gas networks through generation of predictable volumes of hydrogen locally to demand.
The project explored how flexible operation of nuclear energy producing hydrogen and electricity can support a gas network transition to hydrogen and improve the economics of new reactors. It looked at siting opportunities within the NGN and WWU regions to identify how much nuclear enabled hydrogen capacity can be delivered local to needs.
This webinar will introduce the project and key project findings, covering Small and Advanced Modular Reactors, UK government policy, economics, siting and future deployment roadmaps.
