The National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) is delighted to announce that it has been named a finalist in the Apprenticeship Assessment Organisation (AAO) of the Year category at the Federation of Awarding Bodies (FAB) 2026 Qualifications & Assessment Excellence Awards.

The prestigious awards celebrate outstanding achievement across the UK qualifications and assessment sector, recognising organisations, teams and individuals making exceptional contributions to learners, employers and industry.

NSAN’s shortlisting reflects the strength of our End Point Assessment Organisation (EPAO) services, which support nuclear apprenticeship standards used across the industry. Led by the sector and delivered with specialist nuclear expertise, NSAN’s assessment approach is designed to give employers, providers and apprentices confidence in the quality, rigour and relevance of assessment.

The FAB 2026 Awards received more than 120 entries, making a place on the shortlist a significant achievement and a strong endorsement of NSAN’s continued contribution to skills development for the nuclear sector.

Tricia Austin, Managing Director of NSAN, said:

“We are delighted to be shortlisted for Apprenticeship Assessment Organisation of the Year. This recognition is a testament to the dedication, expertise and professionalism of our team, and to the strong collaboration we have with employers, training providers and industry specialists across the nuclear sector.

Our role is to ensure apprentices are assessed to the highest standards, with assessments that are robust and relevant to the needs of the nuclear industry. Being recognised for the third year in a row by FAB is a proud moment for NSAN and reinforces the value our sector-led approach in supporting the future nuclear workforce.”

NSAN congratulates all finalists on their achievement, with special congratulations to SIAS, part of the Cogent Skills Group, which has also been shortlisted in the same category.

We look forward to celebrating the achievements of the qualifications and assessment community at the awards ceremony in November.
