The Nuclear Industry Association has welcomed the Senedd Economy, Trade, and Rural Affairs Committee’s report (link) into Nuclear energy and the Welsh economy.
In reaction to the report, Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, said:
“This report makes it abundantly clear that new nuclear projects can have a hugely positive impact on the Welsh economy. New stations at Wylfa and Trawsfynydd, two genuinely world class nuclear sites, would create thousands of good, skilled jobs, bringing serious investment to businesses and communities, and providing clean, reliable, power for the people of Wales.
“To get these projects going and to provide clarity, urgent decisions are now needed on siting and technology selection, to give Wales the best opportunity to benefit from this huge opportunity.”
