In reaction to the Government announcing a £170 million investment in Sizewell C (link), Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, said:
“This is another important step for energy security and for the future of clean power in Britain. Sizewell C is one of the UK’s most important green infrastructure projects ever and critical to the government’s commitment to strengthen energy independence, cut gas use and bring down bills.
“It will generate enough clean power for 6 million homes from a quarter of square mile of land, all while creating thousands of skilled jobs right across the country. That is exactly what we need right now.”
