The Nuclear Industry Association (NIA) is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Board, following an extensive and transparent recruitment process that attracted strong interest from across the nuclear sector.

The new Board includes three members who served for a year on the outgoing Board, and four new members – together bringing significant experience spanning new build, operations, decommissioning, fuel cycle, major projects, engineering, and workforce representation.

Under the Chairmanship of Lord Iain McNicol, the Board will help guide the strategic direction and operations of the  NIA, supporting NIA Chief Executive Tom Greatrex and the staff team, at a pivotal time for the UK nuclear industry.

Lord Iain McNicol, Chair of the NIA, said:

“Our new Board members reflect the breadth, depth and ambition of the UK nuclear sector. Their leadership will be invaluable as the NIA continues to champion the industry, support growth across the supply chain, and ensure nuclear plays its full part in our energy landscape. I look forward to working closely with all of them.”

Tom Greatrex, Chief Executive of the Nuclear Industry Association, added:

“This is a crucial moment for nuclear in the UK, and I am delighted to welcome such an impressive group of appointees to the NIA Board. Their collective expertise—from major project delivery to workforce development, international supply chains and new technologies—will help strengthen the sector’s voice and support the industry as it works to deliver clean, secure energy for the country.”
