Join the NIA for a webinar with UK-based SMR developer MoltexFLEX and enjoy a LIVE virtual tour of their laboratory.

MoltexFLEX, a subsidiary of Moltex Energy Ltd, was launched in the UK last October to develop the FLEX reactor – a revolutionary small modular design that employs molten salt as a fuel and coolant.

The company is also developing the GridReserve® thermal energy storage system, which will give the 40MWth/16MWe FLEX reactor the ability to rapidly respond to changes in demand and therefore provide reliable, grid-scale back-up for renewables such as wind and solar power.

With plans to build a first-of-a-kind reactor by 2029 and roll out production worldwide throughout the 2030s, this innovative British technology is a potential game-changer in terms of bringing low-cost, carbon-free electrical and thermal energy to the world.

Join us at 12:00 GMT on Friday 9 June to meet the MoltexFLEX team, get a ‘behind the scenes’ look at their scientific development work, and see for yourself what they’re doing to make molten salt reactors and grid-level storage a reality.
