NIA statement on COVID-19
20 March 2020
EdF, which operates the UK’s nuclear reactor fleet, has comprehensive contingency plans in place to maintain operations at all power stations. Planned generation is not affected at any of its sites.
More broadly, as has been confirmed by the UK Office of Nuclear Regulation, all nuclear sites have minimum staffing levels, and contingency plans should they fall below these levels, to enable them to remain in control of activities that could impact on nuclear safety under all foreseeable circumstances, including pandemic disease.
The nuclear industry will continue to working closely with Government to make sure this remains the case.
