TSP Engineering hosts Business Cluster Sector Group

10 October 2017

More than 50 members of Britain’s Energy Coast Business Cluster (BECBC) gathered at TSP Engineering’s Workington site on 27 September for the Nuclear Engagement Sector Group meeting.  They were joined by a team from Thomas Graham & Sons in Carlisle and several guests from the Scottish Nuclear Supply Chain organisation.

As well as networking and meeting the team from TSP Engineering, participants also heard updates from Stuart Gorman and Emma-Jayne Gooch of Sellafield Ltd and Martin Harrison from LLW Repository Ltd and a review of R&D tax relief potential from Nigel Holmes of Catax.

But the highlight of the event, following a brief introduction to TSP Engineering by Chief Operating Officer, John Coughlan, was a site tour to see the scope of the specialist facilities and the range of capabilities at the Workington plant.

“When we offered to host the Sector Group meeting, we knew that most BECBC members only knew a little of our history and were only familiar with a small part of what we can do here,” said John Coughlan.  “It’s all very well writing about our work or speaking about it but hosting this meeting gave us a really good opportunity to show our guests the scale of our workshops and specialist equipment and to explain the range of projects and clients that make up our growing business.”

Craig Kenyon, responsible for Business Development at TSP Engineering agreed: “We were delighted with the interest in our company from the delegates and we received some really positive feedback and detailed questions, particularly after the workshop tours.”

Further information about TSP Engineering is available on the company’s online BECBC Profile and this includes a link to a downloadable brochure that was produced specially for the Sector Group meeting.

The next Nuclear Engagement Sector Group meeting will be hosted by Balfour Beatty on Wednesday 1 November from 10:30am at The Centre, Birchwood Park Warrington.

The regular monthly BECBC members’ meeting will be held at Energus on Wednesday 8 November and will be a joint meeting with the NIA (Nuclear Industry Association).  Further information on membership of BECBC and details of member companies, specialist sector groups and other events and activities can be found online at
