Be bold. Be innovative. Be a ‘Strathclyder’
We are the University of Strathclyde. Our vision is bold and ground breaking, placing us amongst the world’s leading international technological universities. We are vibrant, dynamic and passionate about solving the challenges facing society and industry through our cutting-edge, multi-disciplinary research, education and knowledge-exchange with global partners.
Through our Strathclyde Global Talent Programme we will recruit up to 75 outstanding academics– including Professors / Readers – in areas of strategic importance. One area of importance is Energy.
Our work in Energy brings together Strathclyde researchers from across the disciplines to address the many energy challenges of the 21st Century, including reducing the environmental impact of energy use, improving energy efficiency, coping with declining fossil fuel supplies and managing an ageing energy infrastructure. As one of the largest energy research clusters in Europe, and host to the pioneering Technology & Innovation Centre, Strathclyde offers a huge range of leading expertise across a variety of specialist groups along with world-leading laboratories, unique demonstration facilities and cutting-edge analytical tools. Whether through expert consultancy, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP) or bespoke research, Strathclyde researchers are routinely involved in highly successful collaborations and stand ready to contribute their expertise for the benefit of our partners in industry, government and wider society.
If your Energy research focuses on any of the following areas, we’d love to hear from you:
· Oil & Gas
· Power networks & smart grids
· Monitoring & asset management
· Energy utilisation
· Environmental impact
· Renewable energy
Our Professors and Readers enjoy a range of benefits, including a generous remuneration package; notable additional financial and non-financial benefits; excellent start-up support; initially reduced teaching and management load; and regular career review, with the opportunity to receive additional remuneration in recognition of extraordinary contribution.
We would love to hear from you if you have an internationally recognised research portfolio in this area, are publishing in leading international journals, are actively pursuing funding whilst building impactful collaborative links with industrial and business partners and if you have a passion for leading on teaching and learning.
