The Nuclear Industry Association’s Chief Executive, Tom Greatrex, has welcomed the launch of the Theddlethorpe Community Partnership on Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) siting (link):
“The launch of this partnership in a non-nuclear area is an excellent illustration of how the nuclear industry works closely and carefully with local communities to ensure responsible development.
“The GDF could bring hundreds of high-quality, long-term jobs and decades of investment to Theddlethorpe, and open up new opportunities for residents there. The GDF will also develop and strengthen the UK’s proud legacy of world-class engineering and science.”
