Join the Materials Research Facility's webinar to learn more about the FaSCiNATe grant.

The National Nuclear Users Facility has awarded The Materials Research Facility (MRF) with a £2 million investment in the grant “FaSCiNATe”. This stands for the Facility for the Structural Characterisation of materials for Nuclear Applications operating at high Temperatures and is lead by UKAEA in partnership with the Universities of Oxford and Birmingham. The project is focused on the defects created during irradiation damage: what strain they create (as measured by in-situ XRD), what energy they store (using high-vacuum DSC) and what influence they have on mechanical behaviour (using an in-situ mechanical test stage).

We warmly invite you to our virtual showcase to find out more during a 45 minute introduction to the new FaSCiNATe equipment and what it can do for you. This will be hosted by UKAEA’s Active Materials Testing Lead, Dr Andy London, and it is taking place on Zoom from 4pm Wednesday 18th January, with a Q&A session at the end.
