NIA will co-host a webinar with a GowlingWLG around nuclear resilience with EDF Energy and IAEA .

The webinar will explore the positive steps operators are taking to manage staff and contractor safety, mitigate risks and maintain safe operations.

We will also look at the flexibility under licence regimes to adapt operations to pandemic environments, and the challenge of operating in an evolving pandemic environment of potentially long duration from early recognition to lessons learned.

A key area has been the international support for operators in all jurisdictions and the exchange of good practice across the industry, the roles of regulators, operators, supply chain and governments in maintaining safe generation . IAEA are well placed to talk to the international response.

Finally , we will look at the good ideas , streamlining and positive practices that might be worth continuing to utilise or apply more widely in the post pandemic world.

This webinar is linked to a similar event being co-hosted by CNA and Gowling WLG on Thursday 11 June on the same topic but with speakers from North American utilities and regulators . NIA members are invited to join the Canadian event and CNA members are welcome at the UK event. The resilience issues facing the industry are international and we can learn from each other.
