The National Nuclear Laboratory is delivering the Advanced Nuclear Skills and Innovation Campus (ANSIC) pilot programme on behalf of the UK Government Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The pilot aims to:

  • Demonstrate how collaborative Innovation and Research projects can be successfully carried out on a Nuclear Licensed Site, removing barriers and facilitate access
  • Demonstrate and evaluate different approaches to providing skills, training, and experience for a range of ages and educational backgrounds
  • Deliver a solid evidence base through learning from the pilot programme and through engagement with industry, academia and international laboratories to inform a business case for a long term ANSIC proposition

The ANSIC pilot programme has included research and innovation funding awards, feasibility study funding, and a range of skills and training activities. More information on this pilot campus is available via this link.

BEIS is keen to understand UK academic and supply chain interest in a future ANSIC to support the accelerated deployment of advanced nuclear technology.
