The Oldbury-based company, which specialises in precision metal tubular assembly won a Queen’s Award in 2020 in the international trade category, for growth in exports.

On Thursday 2 September the team at Accles & Pollock hosted a visit from the West Midlands Lieutenancy (representatives of Her Majesty the Queen in our region) to receive their award. West Midlands Lieutenancy representatives included John Wood, who is one of our Sandwell Business Ambassadors.

Phil Begley is Divisional Managing Director for Accles & Pollock. He said:

“I’m delighted that Accles & Pollock has been recognised in the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise for its success in growing exports over recent years. With the increasing globalisation of aerospace manufacturing, global markets will continue to be a critical source of revenue for Accles & Pollock over the coming years”.

Judged to demanding standards, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business prizes around. They are given each year for outstanding achievement by UK businesses in the categories of innovation, international trade, sustainable development and promoting opportunity through social mobility.

Black Country businesses are under-represented among past winners of Queen’s Awards, so the Sandwell Business Ambassadors have been encouraging more to apply.

Congratulations to Accles & Pollock for securing a Queen’s Award – and may its prestige help the company continue to go from strength to strength!
