Chairman, Nuclear Decommissioning Authority
Sir Anthony is currently Chairman of the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority and the Medical Research Council, as well as several private companies. After graduating from Oxford in Literae Humaniores, he joined IBM UK in 1962 and held a range of positions, both in the UK and abroad, culminating as Chairman and CEO. He then became Chairman of the UK Atomic Energy Authority and led the privatisation and subsequent flotation of AEA Technology plc. He is an Honorary Fellow of Trinity College, Oxford and of Birkbeck College, London, an Honorary LLD of Nottingham and Portsmouth Universities, an Honorary DSc of Cranfield, City University and Hull University, an Honorary DUniv of Middlesex University and a Fellow of the City & Guilds Institute. Sir Anthony is President of Business Commitment to the Environment, has been a Deputy Chairman of Business in the Community and was founding Chairman of Business in the Environment from its inception in 1989 until November 1999. |
