The NIA today launched a major new report, "The UK capability to deliver a new nuclear build programme". The report shows that companies in the UK nuclear industry have the capability to provide over 80% of the scope of new nuclear power station projects if the Government's energy review concludes that new nuclear build should be part of the UK's future energy mix.
Keith Parker, NIA's Chief Executive, said "This report demonstrates the strength in depth of the manufacturing, engineering and construction capability in the UK nuclear industry. It reveals too the significant improvements in project delivery that have occurred in recent years. We are confident that a new nuclear build programme can be delivered effectively, and would provide huge commercial opportunities for companies in the British nuclear industry."
