Bill Bryce steps in as NIA's Interim Chairman | Print |  E-mail

BILL BRYCE, Doosan Babcock’s well-respected nuclear director has stepped in as the NIA’s Interim Chairman following the departure of Philip Dewhurst.

Bill is also part of the nomination committee looking at candidates to succeed as full-time chairman following Philip’s departure at Christmas.

Bill said:   “I am happy and honoured to cover the role in the meantime, but it is essential to find the right person as soon as possible to lead the association at such a crucial time for the nuclear industry in the UK.”

“This is a hugely important period for the industry and we must support the invaluable work of the NIA in representing the views of members to government, the general public and the media.”

Philip Dewhurst stepped-down following his departure from BNFL to take up a new challenge as head of communications for the marketing and trading arm of Gazprom.

He said his two years as chairman had been memorable in terms in the shift of positive attitudes towards nuclear power in the UK.

“It was a privilege for me to work with the professional team at NIA, led by Keith Parker. In terms of resources they are one of the smallest industry associations in the UK, but in terms of effectiveness, one of the strongest.”
