The National Skills Academy for Nuclear (NSAN) in partnership with the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) is rolling out a third round of their successful Bursary award scheme. The scheme is open to quality individuals on programmes of study relevant to the decommissioning sector of the nuclear industry. It includes Foundation Degrees, Honours Degrees, and Masters Degrees. The previous rounds, completed in 2008, saw 49 students across the UK successfully secure amounts between £500 and £4,000 to fund their courses This time the awards given will be larger, in the region of £1000 - £4,000, subject to how well the applicant fulfils the aims of the programme. Both the NSAN and the NDA hope the scheme will attract a broader mix of new entrants into the nuclear industry and the wider Science and Technology agenda. Applications are open now until 5pm on the 14 August 2009. The NSAN are happy to accept them from individuals, or from employers or Higher Education Institutions.
