Wylfa's site director named as top leader | Print |  E-mail
Tuesday, 17 March 2009
The NDA welcomes the news that Greg Evans, Site Director of Magnox North’s Wylfa Site and Maentwrog Hydro Station has been presented with the award for ‘Leadership in Business with more than 250 employees’ at the Leading Wales Award, which was held in Cardiff on 26 February.

Greg said that he was delighted with his Wales Management Council-sponsored award:

“I am deeply honoured and very proud to have received this award, but recognition must go to every member of my staff including all those who, maybe, have been inspired in some way to improve themselves, their personal and team performance and to think differently outside of their comfort zone.

“The key issue for the nuclear industry is to ensure that we are safe and secure and this is underpinned by recognising and accepting that people really do matter in today’s workplace.”

The Leading Wales Awards recognise great leadership at all levels across the public, private and voluntary sectors in Wales, celebrating individuals whose excellent leadership skills have made a strong impact and resulted in positive change within their organisations. This year the awards have recognised real people, whose leadership has made a difference in Wales.

Barbara Chidgey, spokesperson for the Leading Wales Awards, said:

“Our aim is to champion good leadership and influence leadership development by identifying, recognising and celebrating individuals, who through their leadership contribute to the prosperity of Wales. This year’s nominees, finalists and award winners are tremendous individual examples of how leadership makes a real difference to our communities, businesses and to our lives.”
