Stan Gordelier, Southern Division Director with UKAEA and former NIA Board Member, will be taking up a senior post as the Head of Nuclear Development Division within the Nuclear Energy Agency in Paris. He leaves the UKAEA in January, when his second period as a member of the UKAEA Board comes to an end. This is the normal limit under the Government's Nolan rules for public appointments.
UKAEA Chief Executive Dipesh Shah commented "I am very sorry to lose Stan as a colleague and Director of UKAEA. Since he joined UKAEA six years ago, he has been an outstanding Director of Southern Division, bringing a wide range of skills and experience to UKAEA and making a huge contribution to our performance over that period. During my first year with UKAEA, I have personally greatly valued Stan's support and his commitment to the continuing success of the organisation.
However, I am delighted that Stan will be taking up a post that I know he will enjoy and I am glad that we will continue to have a friend and supporter of UKAEA working within the nuclear industry. As we move into the era of the NDA, I will be reviewing the structure of executive directorships with the Board. In the meantime, the Heads of Site in Southern Division will report to me." |
