The Czech Government has approved its much delayed new long term energy policy through to 2030. As part of the policy the Czech Republic is committed to building two 600MW reactors within this time frame. The Government has also pledged to increase the amount of electricity generated from renewable sources from the current 3% to 16% by 2030. However it has also lifted current restrictions on the mining and use of brown coal.
