Nuclear company receives the Queens Award for Enterprise

A.N.Technology - ANTECH - a small NIA member company based in Wallingford has won the Queens Award for Enterprise: International Trade section. The award is bestowed on UK based companies which demonstrate substantial growth in overseas earnings and commercial success, to levels that are outstanding for the goods or services concerned and for the size of the applicant's operations. A.N. Technology was established in 1987 and is winning the Award for the first time. It designs, manufactures and supports nuclear measurement systems for nuclear safeguards, nuclear waste characterisation and radiation measurement. It markets these in the USA, Europe and Japan thorough a network of Agents and in the USA through its subsidiary company in Denver. The UK Company supports its efforts by attending International exhibitions, presenting scientific papers at conferences, visiting major customers and offering fast deliveries. It boasts a 100 page catalogue providing product and technical information. Produce innovations and development are also key to marketing success which has seen the company sales double over the last three years whilst maintaining exports in excess of 90%. NIA congratulates ANTECH on their achievement and we also send our congratulations to NIA member company Mott MacDonald the management, development and engineering consultancy who have also won the same award. This is the third Queen's Award for international performance in nine years for Mott MacDonald. Building on its 1996 and 1998 awards Mott MacDonald doubled its exports between 2000 and 2002 (the period covered by the latest award). While last year's international earnings - from work in over 100 countries - reached £203 million.
