The NIA are today taking part in a day of interviews on the nuclear debate, for BBC News 24. Taking place at Sizewell B power station in Suffolk, the event will see interviews recorded with numerous figures representing various perspectives on nuclear power. John McNamara, NIA head of media and PR will speak, as will British Energy general counsel and company secretary Robert Armour, Bob Kury, site manager of Sizewell A, and a representative of the NDA. Nathan Martins of Greenpeace and Peter Lanyon of the Shutdown Sizewell Campaign will also present their views. The interviews offer the NIA, and other advocates of nuclear power, the opportunity to emphasise the importance of nuclear power generation, including the fact that Sizewell B supplies low-carbon electricity to over 2 million homes and contributes £30 million to the local economy through staff wages alone. The interviews will be aired throughout the day. |
