Mike Weightman appointed Chief Inspector of NII |

Mike Weightman was today announced to be the new Chief Inspector of the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate (NII). Weightman has 30 years experience working in the nuclear industry, 17 of which have been spent in the regulatory sector. He has been acting chief inspector and acting director of the Nuclear Safety Directorate since Laurence Williams left the post at the end of 2004 to join the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority as head of safety and security. Weightman has an engineering and physics background and is widely respected throughout the industry. |
