Philip Greenish, Chief Executive, Royal Academy of Engineering, said:“In an unprecedented move a group of the UK’s major energy and engineering institutions have come together to sign a statement urging the British Government to pave the way for new nuclear build.”

The statement reads:"We the undersigned, representing the UK expertise in all forms of energy and related engineering, urge the Government to give the go-ahead to allow new nuclear build as part of the balanced energy mix needed to tackle climate change and provide secure long term energy supplies."Royal Academy of Engineering
