Major energy and engineering institutions support new nuclear build

Philip Greenish, Chief Executive, Royal Academy of Engineering, said:“In an unprecedented move a group of the UK’s major energy and engineering institutions have come together to sign a statement urging the British Government to pave the way for new nuclear build.” The statement reads:"We the undersigned, representing the UK expertise in all forms of energy and related engineering, urge the Government to give the go-ahead to allow new nuclear build as part of the balanced energy mix needed to tackle climate change and provide secure long term energy supplies."Royal Academy of Engineering Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology Institution of Mechanical Engineers Institute of Physics Institution of Structural Engineers Institution of Engineering and Technology Institution of Civil Engineers Engineering and Technology Board Society of Operations Engineers British Computer Society Institution of Chemical Engineers Dalton Nuclear Institute at the University of Manchester
