First assembly for Sellafield MOX plant |

BNFL's MOX plant at Sellafield has completed the construction of its first mixed-oxide (MOX) assembly. After spending 39 months overcoming technical difficulties the assemble was produced in three days and is currently undergoing testing. The assembly is one of four being constructed for Swiss customer Nordostschweizerische Kraftwerke. BNFL expect to start fabrication of the next assembly within a few weeks and to complete the order by the middle of this year. |
