First concrete has been poured for Pakistan's Chashma-2 nuclear power station, two months ahead of schedule. Chinese industry built the 300-MW Chashma-1 and has the contract for the second unit (which was signed in May 2004) due for completion in 2011 at an estimated cost of $850million.
