AMEC Nuclear and UK Atomic Energy Authority (UKAEA) have signed a memorandum of understanding with Kopec, the South Korea's Korean Power Engineering Company, in order to achieve their aim which is to "win work in the multi-billion pound South Korean nuclear market." The memorandum calls for the three firms to target work in nuclear waste management and repository projects, decommissioning, reactor services and nuclear plants in both Korean and international markets. In addition, AMEC and UKAEA will support an education exchange program to allow Kopec to send key staff to the UK to gain nuclear decommissioning experience.
