As part of NIA's 2005/06 export programme we are planning to visit Bulgaria on 3-7 October 2005. The NIA visit will include a two centre visit from 3-4 October in Sofia to meet with ministry officials and for an evening reception and a visit to the Kozloduy site to meet with the operators and contractors. |

NIA will be organising many events to promote the industry at this year's party conferences in September and October. This will include having a stand on behalf of the whole industry at this year's Labour party conference. We will also be hosting fringe meetings and receptions at all three political party and the TUC conferences. |

€5 billion ITER engineering challenge for industry |

With the recent announcement to construct the International Tokamak Experimental Reactor (ITER) in France, UK industry has the opportunity to bid for a share of the €5billion construction budget. As ITER is based in France, there could be over €2billion of business for EU industry over a period of 10 years, that is €200million a year for the next decade.
The challenge facing UKAEA's Fusion and Industry team is to identify and assist UK companies to compete for international supply contracts for the construction and operation of the ITER. |
