The standing programme of NIA Working Groups has continued since the beginning of this year. These have included the Decommissioning Working Group on 18 March with the theme "Decommissioning Experience" and Industrial Affairs Working Group meetings on 21 January and 28 April, with member representation remaining at a good level for all meetings.

The three NIA, NDA Sub Groups working under the umbrella of the NIA NDA Steering Group all met during January. This was in response to the DTI LMU first draft of the Heads of Terms and contract model, which had been circulated to NIA for information and comment by 31 January 2004. A collated response from the three groups, endorsed by the NIA NDA Steering Group was sent to the LMU prior to the deadline. LMU's response to NIA's comments was received on 1 April and circulated to all Group members. NIA will participate in a further review when the revised draft Heads of Terms are issued.
