Gordon Campbell, new Chairman of BNFL
Mr Campbell will chair BNFL until the restructuring of the company in April 2005 and will chair the successor company beyond that until the end of March 2007. He said: "I am delighted to be taking up the Chairmanship of BNFL at such an important time. I am looking forward to working with Mike Parker, as we take the Group forward."

Patricia Hewitt said: "Gordon has a wealth of experience in leading change in large scale industries and in delivering business strategies. These skills and his strong leadership will ensure BNFL's successful restructuring."

Speaking after the announcement Hugh Collum, said: "I am very pleased to be handing over to someone of Gordon's calibre. He has extensive knowledge of the business, having been on BNFL's Board for almost four years. With his engineering background and business experience he is best placed to help BNFL through this period of change.
