Farewell to John and Kerste | Print |  E-mail
John Haddon, Head of Trade and Industry at NIA, left the organisation at the end of December to take early retirement.

John Haddon, Head of Trade and Industry at NIA, left the organisation at the end of December to take early retirement. John joined the nuclear industry after taking a degree in Chemistry at Oxford. After a spell as an exporter promoter in DTI, he joined what was then BNIF in 1995. During his time here, John established an active and thriving network of Industry Working Groups, worked unstintingly to promote British companies' interests in overseas markets, and more recently was instrumental in the successful establishment of a Sector Skills Council for the nuclear industry. John made many friends throughout the industry both at home and internationally. I am sure that they will all join with his colleagues at NIA to wish him and his family all the very best for the future.

Kerste - always determined to prove the truth about global warming
Kerste Lenton joined BNIF 14 years ago and was NIA's longest serving member of staff. Kerste had her first baby, Drew, in September and has decided that she will not return to work after her maternity leave, but will devote her time to bringing up her son. Kerste was a stalwart of NIA's backroom, sorting out our IT systems, providing information to schools and the general public, and maintaining our all-important contact databases. We send Kerste congratulations on her baby, and wish her and her family every good fortune.

And congratulations to Ruth
Ruth Stanway, NIA's Media and Public Affairs Manager, gave birth to Lauren Hazel on 29 September. We send congratulations and very best wishes to Ruth, Stuart and Lauren.
