China April saw the start of the NIA 2007/08 trade programme with a visit to China. NIA together with several member companies attended the 7th International Exhibition on Nuclear Power Industry 2007 which was held in Shanghai, and associated seminar on the Third Generation Nuclear Power Technology. The event is one of China’s leading biennial trade exhibitions for the whole nuclear power community and comprised around 150 exhibitors from over 20 countries providing an important opportunity for UK companies to gather information, establish contacts and network with Chinese and other international companies. Feedback following the event from those UK companies exhibiting has been positive with a number of enquiries by visitors at the exhibition trade stands. Bulgaria Implementation of the NIA trade programme continued during early June with a visit to the BULATOM Annual International Conference in Varna. The visit was supported by UKTI who provided a table for literature display and the services of an interpreter for the NIA party at the small exhibition accompanying the conference. The conference had an international content and together with its associated social activities provided an opportunity to gather information on the current status of the nuclear industry from a global perspective and also in Bulgaria and surrounding countries. Also, to refresh and make new contacts with Bulgarian companies and industry stakeholders. Other international markets NIA has also visited several other international markets and participated in a number of UK events this year to obtain information, establish contacts and identify nuclear industry export opportunities. Further trade opportunities NIA’s overseas trade programme continues with visits planned for: ENC 2007 European Nuclear Conference – Brussels, Belgium, 16 - 19 September 2007 |
