Business plan will take NIA “to the next level” | Print |  E-mail
The NIA welcomed two new members of staff in April when Stephanie Longland and Tris Denton joined the organisation. Stephanie and Tris were recruited as part of a re-structuring at the NIA in support of a new three year business plan which was recently approved by the board.

Stephanie previously worked at Metal Bulletin PLC and specialises in conference organisation and events management. She will work primarily in support of membership services, business development and give specialist support to established and new NIA events, seminars, working groups and conferences.

Tris Denton previously worked at the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry as a researcher but has long been interested in the nuclear industry as his father worked for Centronic. Tris will lend support to media, public relations and public affairs areas and will help with NIA publications in support of the business plan.

Both new officers will report to John McNamara, Head of Public Relations. John said he was delighted with the appointments.
“Already Stephanie and Tris are adding great value to our member services and activities in general. This will help the NIA move to the next level of performance, particularly in membership services and external engagement.”

“The business plan is ambitious and achievable and places the NIA firmly in pole position as the main interface for the industry with government, parliament and key stakeholders like the NDA and DTI.”

Highlights of the new business plan include an extended calendar of public events, a much closer working role with the NDA and the industry supply chain, taking a central role in the Franco-British Nuclear Forum and targeting media and public opinion in particular as key areas for development.
