Chairman, Committee on Radioactive Waste Management
Gordon MacKerron is an economist who has specialised for some 25 years in economic, policy and technology issues in energy and environment, with particular focus on energy policy and nuclear power. He spent 20 years at SPRU (Science and Technology Policy Research, University of Sussex) and is now Associate Director, NERA Economic Consulting. In 2001 he was deputy leader of the team that produced the Energy Review in the Cabinet Office. Mr MacKerron has advised many public and private sector organisations in the UK and more widely including the National Audit Office, the European Court of Auditors, the EBRD, the Irish Government and PowerGen. He has been a Specialist Adviser and invited witness to many Parliamentary Select Committee inquiries. Mr MacKerron was an external member of the most recent UKAEA Quinquennial Review and is currently Chair of the independent Committee on Radiaoctive Waste Management. |
