A project called Upstream Optioneering will help identify and implement opportunities for improved management of higher activity radioactive waste in the UK.
The improvements for the management of higher activity radioactive waste could lead to:
quicker and more cost effective hazard reduction
reduced environmental and safety impacts, and
other benefits.
The workshop is open to the following groups from the UK radioactive waste industry, with a particular interest in packaging waste for disposal at a geological disposal facility:
Site Licence Companies and their Parent Body Organisations (including prospective Parent Body Organisations)
Regulators
The supply chain
