Bill Shipp is President, Laboratory Director and General Manager of Bechtel BWXT Idaho, LLC, the Management and Operations contractor for the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory (INEEL). INEEL is a Department of Energy Multipurpose National Laboratory with leadership responsibilities in Environmental Management and Stewardship and Nuclear Energy. INEEL also has significant Environmental cleanup responsibilities. The company has an annual budget of approximately $1.B and employees 6,500 employees. He held the position of Deputy General Manager and Laboratory Director until he was selected to his current position in August 2001. Prior to coming to the Idaho National Engineering and Environmental Laboratory, Bill was Associate Laboratory Director for the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory's Environmental Technology Division, where he managed 1,600 employees and $250 million yearly in business volume. In 1999, he was appointed Idaho Science and Technology Advisor. In this position he becomes the state governor's top advisor on science and technology issues and is the first person in Idaho history to assume the role.
